Under a dark sky in central Virginia on the night of July 18, 2020. Comet NEOWISE was easily visible to the unaided eye. While visually looking rather ghostly the camera brought out many of the comets details including the blue ion tail. Taken with a tripod mounted Nikon Z6, ƒ/2.8 200.0 mm lens, at ISO 10000. 15 stacked 5 sec exposures.

SpaceX CRS-6 - up and away

The sun slowly rises over the Atlantic Ocean, casting a warm glow over the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Excitement fills the air as I join a crowd of spectators gathering along Titan III Road Causeway, across from Cape Canaveral launch pad 40, eagerly awaiting the liftoff of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. This particular launch is CRS-6, a critical mission to resupply the International Space Station with much-needed equipment and supplies. As the countdown begins, the crowd falls silent, transfixed by the massive rocket towering before them. At T-0, the engines roar to life, sending a deafening boom across the launch center. The Falcon 9 lifts off the pad, leaving behind a trail of smoke and flames as it soars into the sky, bound for space. The crowd erupts into cheers as they watch the rocket climb higher and higher, disappearing into the distance. Myself and the NASA social media team captures every moment of the launch, live streaming it to viewers all over the world. The Falcon 9's journey to the International Space Station will take several days, but the excitement of the launch is palpable, with people eagerly anticipating updates on the mission's success. It's a proud moment for SpaceX, NASA, and the entire spaceflight community, as we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in space exploration.
