Super Blood Wolf Moon lunar eclipse of January 20, 2019
2016 Supermoon, this full moon is also called the Beaver moon and Frosty Moon. The biggest and brightest full moon in nearly 70 years - This particular supermoon experience is extra rare: It’s the closest full moon since 1948.
On a night in late May the weather cooperated but the meteors didn't. Lots of people turned out to view the Camelopardalids Meteor Shower, a handful of Richmond Astronomical Society members and perhaps 25 or so Richmond Photography Meetup Group Members. For several hours we had our own mini star party! While most everyone enjoyed the dark skies the meteor shower was a no show. Fortunately the stars were spectacular and much observing and photography ensued.
