Old tree stumps and roots are revealed at low tide along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay at sunset. Traces of the old shoreline before erosion and rising water levels. Taken just inches above the sand, the bay water isn't as cold as I thought it would be this time of year.
Sunset and reflections from the Sea Gull Pier on an unusually claim ocean at mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. This pier extends from the southernmost of four man-made Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel islands on US 13 connecting Virginia Beach/Norfolk to Virginia's Eastern Shore.
